About Me
Melissa Mandel, a vocalist and songwriter, with a sound reminiscent of the musical greats of the 1970s and 1980s, is heavily inspired by artists of that era including: The Carpenters, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Cyndi Lauper and more. Melissa, a winner of the Long Island Music Hall of Fame distinction in music scholarship, aims to inspire a whole new generation through her deeply emotive vocal timbre, strong musical presence and nostalgic original music that connects her with audiences as she carries on the legacy of her musical family.
Melissa has performed for Boston corporate and educational events such as the Ivy League Swim Championships held at Harvard University, the Boston Public Library, and at the Boston Book Festival which averages an attendance of more than 25,000 each year. Having studied under Ana Guigui (America, Jon Sedaca, Christopher Cross), she has also performed in famous cathedrals in Europe in Austria, Hungary, Germany and the Czech Republic. Passionate about supporting cancer survivors, she frequently lends her time performing for various charitable and other survivorship events including the Cancer Survivor Day at St. Francis Hospital in New York. Melissa's music can be heard nationwide across the U.S. in states including New York, South Dakota, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Illinois and more.
